Frist Date - Kate's Perspective

Our First Date - Kate’s Perspective
Joe covered most of the basics of our first date but he left our one major detail - his ex girlfriend was there.
Now I should say, Joe didn’t know or expect her to be there it was just one of those it’s a small world things. Sun Liquor is a small place, we got a table near the front door and since it was a week night it wasn’t very busy. I had this strange feeling that people were staring at us but I chalked it up to obviously being on a first date.
I came to find out later, when we walked in a group of Joe’s ex’s friend were sitting at the bar and toward the end, his actual ex joined them. At the time I didn’t know a thing - Joe handled it well because I’m sure he must have been freaking out.
But we had a lot of fun, I remember laughing and giving each other a hard time throughout the evening. I remember being excited that he called and I was sad I had to put him off a week for our second date.
I should also say that TO THIS DAY, Joe complains about not being invited to this out of town wedding I was going to.  I think mostly because he has now met Stacy and Ray, now considers them good friends and is probably pretty sad to have missed their incredibly fun wedding. However I maintain that if I would have asked him (not that I had a plus one anyway) I would have thought I was INSANE and run screaming for the hills.
And yes, I totally threw him to the wolves on the second date but I had a good feeling about this guy and I didn’t want to get too attached if my friends didn’t approve.
